Nodes
Custom action
Call an external API or webhook during a call.
The Custom action node (custom_action) allows calling any HTTP API during the call and using the response in the Flow.
Action vs. node
The Action is the global configuration (method, URL, headers, body, auth). The node in the Flow references that action and maps Flow variables to the defined placeholders.
Action fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Identifier for the action. |
| HTTP method | GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE. |
| Endpoint URL | Endpoint to call. |
| Authentication type | none, custom, gohighlevel, hubspot, salesforce, salesforce_sandbox. |
| Headers | Custom headers. |
| Request body | Body template with placeholders <variable>. |
| AI instruction | How the Agent should announce or react to the result. |
| Delay/failure messages | Texts to speak while waiting or on error. |
| Timeout and retries | Resilience configuration. |
Placeholders
Use <variable_name> in the URL, headers or body. The runtime substitutes Flow values.
Node in the Flow
- References an action by
actionId. - Maps variables to placeholders (
inputMapping). - Stores the response in
outputVariable.
Validation
- Error if no action is associated.
- Error if webhook mode has no URL.
- Error if
inputMappingis not a valid JSON object.
